Congratulations to MPhil student Siyuan Fan!
Siyuan Fan, the first graduate from our EICP group, has successfully passed her dissertation oral defense. Her work was built on a solid and thought-provoking research project titled “Identifying Climate Adaptation Projects in Local Government Bonds: Using AI-Supported Text Analysis.” Siyuan’s contributions have set a strong example for future students.
Professor Johannes Van Biesebroeck from KU Leuven (Belgium) was invited to give a seminar titled “Imperfect (Re)allocation in Imperfect Markets: Evidence from China’s Pilot Carbon ETS”.
MPhil student Siyuan Fan participated in CNCC Green Bag and delivered a talk about “Identifying Climate Adaptation Projects in Local Government Bonds Using LLMs".
Professor Pan He from Cardiff University was invited to give a seminar titled “The Global Food-Environment-Health Nexus: A Consumption-Side Perspective".
Professor Chi Man YIP from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was invited to give a seminar titled “When Porter Goes Broke: Finance and Innovation Under Climate Risk".
Professor Dayong Zhang from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics was invited to give a seminar on “Climate Risks and Financial Markets” and to attend our group meeting.
PhD student Yang Zhang participated in CNCC Green Bag and delivered a talk about “Solar photovoltaic integration in mining regions:evaluating global energy potential and benefits to sustainability".
Professor Yong Geng from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was invited to give a seminar about National Nature Science Foundation Project.
PhD student Zhenhuan Yang participated in CNCC Green Bag and delivered a talk about “Raining on Bonds: The Financing Costs of Extreme Rain on Urban Investment Bonds".
Professor Mengmeng Guo from the School of Finance at Nanjing Agricultural University was invited to give a seminar titled “Flooded Venture: Extreme Rainfall and Entrepreneurship” at HKUST (GZ) and to participate in our group meeting.
